Lake Worth High School Alumni Association

Alumni Night 2026

Alondra Bahls-Mariles and the Trojan Sound marching band kicked off the evening of Oct. 2 with a meet ‘n’ greet miniconcert for alumni in the auditorium. The band was surprised to learn that
there are words to “The Fight Song,” which Maggie Shamo Witherow, class of 1950, was happy to share.

In the stands, we found Maggie, with BobieSue Everett Bressmer and Donna George, both of the class of 1974. Farther up in the stands near the sign for Bill Harvey Stadium, were Bill Harvey Jr. and wife Corinne, class of 1974, plus their daughter Victoria Harvey Hirsch, class of 2001, her husband Jeff, class of 2001, classmate Marjo Ylipelkonen, also 2001, and their offspring. We didn’t catch the name of the person behind them, from the class of 2002. Working with the Student Government Association was math teacher Manouchka Lovanice, class of 1994.

The band’s performance of Rewind, a medley of popular music from the 1940s and since, was a highlight of the game, which the Trojans lost to Wellington, 47-6.

We hope to get more notice out about next year’s Alumni Night, so that more graduates show up to celebrate the school that launched them into adulthood.

The ambient temperature was cold, but the action was hot at the 2026 Great Charity Challenge. Lake Worth Dollars for Scholars was in the running, and several officers and loved ones braved the wind to watch our riders take 24th place, bringing $25,000 to the coffers of DFS.

The cost of individual yearly membership is only $30.00 or $50.00 for a couple. But the best tax deductible membership is a one-time donation of $250.00 for a LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP.
